Dog Training

The Merryfield Motel For Pets does a lot of training, we train on leash obedience, off leash obedience, alarm training and crate training.

On Leash Advanced Obedience

This program is designed to teach your pet the “Command” language. The words are: Sit, Heel, Down, Stay and Come. This is done with a training collar and 6′ leash.

We are training your pet many times throughout the day. We are also resolving the annoying problems that you are having, like bolting through doors, jumping up on people, etc.

This course includes:

  • Six private lessons
  • Personalized instructional video of your pet
  • Four weeks of group classes
  • Any brush up training in the future is only $15.00(Usually fees are $50.00 per Private lesson)
  • Unlimited phone consultations

Off-Leash Obediance

This is our most popular program. During this 2-3 week period of training your pet will be taught to respond to our command language completely off-leash. This advanced training will give you the control you need to take your pet anywhere. Even the most unruly dog can become the ultimate family pet with this program. This program includes all the equipment.

This course includes:

  • Unlimited private lessons
  • Personalized instructional video of your pet
  • All training equipment
  • Unlimited phone consultations

Alarm Dog Training

We will train your dog to bark and look threatening at the end of a leash on command. Your pet will also learn the “out” command so you can turn your pet off when the threat has ceased. The training program will not teach your pet to bite, a dog that bites is a liability and most home owners insurance will not give you coverage. This training can be combined with any of the other training packages.

Crate Training to prevent house soiling

Your pet will go home with one of our housebreaking specialist for a period of thirty days. During this time your pet will be properly introduced to crate training and be put on a consistent feeding and outdoor elimination schedule. Upon Pick up we will teach you everything you need to know to transition your pet from crate training to housebreaking. Housebreaking means gradually eliminating the crate as your pet earns the right to roam freely in your home.
